Block Tales Griefer fight facts

Griefer is a two-stage pressure test. The first fight checks whether you can handle Slow and charged attacks. The later Venomshank fight adds Poison and harsher damage.

Do not treat the 24 HP fight and 40 HP fight as the same boss with bigger numbers. The second fight changes the cost of every mistake.

  • Save status answers for the Venomshank half.
  • Respect Griefer Chargeup instead of calling it a wasted turn.
  • Watch Slam timing because it can vary by jump height.
  • Do not enter Griefer's Crib after emptying SP on normal enemies.

Slow, Dizzy, and Poison problems

Slow makes the fight feel like it is slipping away. Dizzy makes action commands shakier. Poison turns a barely safe HP total into a bad plan.

A better attempt names which status caused the loss. If Poison killed the route, bring Cure or Feel Fine logic. If Slow kept you from acting cleanly, stop overcommitting damage before the status lands.

  • Use Cure when Poison damage will outlast the current turn.
  • Avoid greedy SP use while Dizzy makes inputs less reliable.
  • Heal before a charged attack can turn status pressure into mortal damage.
  • Bring stable damage instead of a setup that collapses when slowed.

Griefer before Bubonic Plant

The fight is part of the longer Chapter 2 finish, not a standalone duel. Spending everything on Griefer can leave the player unready for Bubonic Plant.

That is the main route judgment: win clean enough to keep playing. If the second Griefer fight burns every item, reset the prep rather than hoping the final boss will be easier.

  • Keep at least one recovery answer after the second fight.
  • Do not farm drops during story pressure.
  • Plan for Bubonic Plant's Poison and Burn-vulnerable body next.
  • Read the Chapter 2 page if Griefer's Crib keeps becoming a wall.

FAQ

How much HP does Griefer have?

Current data lists 24 HP for the first fight and 40 HP for the second fight.

What statuses does Griefer use?

Griefer can apply Slow, Dizzy, and Poison depending on the move and fight phase.

What should I do after Griefer uses Chargeup?

Treat it as a warning turn. Heal, defend, or prepare for Super Slam or a charged Venomshank follow-up instead of spending blindly.

Is Griefer the final Chapter 2 fight?

No. Griefer leads into Bubonic Plant, so preserve enough resources for the fight after him.

Guide

Status Effects Guide

Block Tales Status Effects Guide focuses on what changes a turn, not on memorizing every icon. Status effects appear in battle with duration and level when applicable. Some protect, some debuff, and some steal tempo. Frozen is the early warning sign because Cruel King can apply it for 1 turn and stop the action you planned next. Fine can block status ailments for a short window. Burn, Freeze, and Poison enchants can come from card effects. The key decision is simple: remove, prevent, or race the effect before it costs more than the turn spent answering it.
