Block Tales Fear fight facts

Fear is easy to misread because the setup turn looks quiet. Fear's Oath is not a break. It is the warning for a stronger Boogeyman.

The fight also layers small problems: Poison, Slow, DEF Down, then burst. None of those is special alone. Together they make low HP feel awful.

  • Treat Fear's Oath as the turn to stabilize.
  • Do not sit at low HP before Boogeyman.
  • Use Cure when Poison and DEF Down are both dragging the attempt.
  • Do not burn all SP before the charged hit window.

Rotten Apple, Glue Glob, and Boogeyman

Rotten Apple makes the next turns less safe by adding Poison and DEF Down. Glue Glob then slows the plan. Boogeyman is where the earlier mistakes get collected.

A clean attempt does not wait for the final hit to solve everything. Heal or defend when the pattern says the charged hit is coming.

  • After Rotten Apple, check whether poison will force a heal.
  • After Glue Glob, avoid plans that need perfect tempo.
  • After Fear's Oath, expect the charged Boogeyman.
  • If Fear is close to dead, finish only when the damage is certain.

Fear in the Chapter 3 boss chain

Fear usually feels worse when Greed and Solitude already spent the inventory. That is why the route plan matters more than one flashy card.

If the same player keeps dying to Boogeyman, the fix is probably HP timing, not a full rebuild.

  • Keep one recovery answer for the charged hit.
  • Do not overbuild for Poison if burst is the actual loss.
  • Use HP+ if the 12-damage charged hit leaves no room.
  • Save risky timing cards for attempts where guards are already consistent.

Chapter 3

Block Tales Chapter 3 is now listed as The Harrowing Home, with All Hallow's Eve noted as its older name. It released on October 21, 2024 and starts after Venomshank, when Shedletsky sends the player toward Telamon's Manor and the Ghostwalker. The route uses Bizville Railways, a train segment, Spooksville, Cemetery, Telamon's Manor, Catacombs, and Dream World. Sword Toss becomes important because flying enemies and target choice start mattering more. The chapter has many boss checks, including Slasher and the emotion fights, so save recovery for the long haunted stretch.

Card

Cure

Block Tales Cure is a 2 BP action card that costs 2 SP and heals 5 HP to yourself or an ally. It is useful when a route keeps forcing recovery turns, especially in party play or status-heavy chapters. Cure is bought from Desna for 120 TIX and Tai for 150 TIX. Pre-Demo 5 data listed a max stack of 5, with 2 obtainable copies. Use Cure before low HP becomes unrecoverable. Do not rely on it as your only survival plan if the build cannot afford the SP or if enemies can punish the heal turn.

HP+ card guide image for Block Tales Wiki

Card

HP+

Block Tales HP+ is a 3 BP passive card that raises current and maximum HP by 5. It is one of the best early safety cards because it gives more room for missed guards, bad enemy turns, and first-time boss learning. HP+ is found in Caves [1] and Dream Path D [2], and bought from Amber for 65 TIX. Pre-Demo 5 data listed a max stack of 4, with 3 obtainable copies. Use HP+ when dying is the problem. Do not equip it if the real failure is low damage or poor SP planning.

Guide

Boss Guide

Block Tales Boss Guide starts with preparation, because most failed attempts are decided before the first attack. Bring one reliable damage card, one recovery answer, and a plan for the boss's worst turn. Cruel King is the clean example: 30 HP, freeze moves, summons, and a heal plus DEF Up. Power Stab helps when the boss is alone. Linebounce helps when summons make the row messy. If the fight keeps failing, do not swap every card. Identify the exact failure: low HP, low SP, missed guards, enemy adds, or panic healing.
