Block Tales Chapter 1 route order

Chapter 1 is not just the castle. The route starts by pushing out of the Caves, reaches Roadtown, then sends the player through Snowy Thicket before the Blackrock Castle dungeon.

Use Roadtown as the planning stop. Talk to Mayor Monty, check shops, and treat the Adventurer ID gate as the point where the route gets less forgiving.

  • Caves: learn Ball routing and collect early cards.
  • Roadtown: restock and get the route pointed toward Snowy Thicket.
  • Snowy Thicket: find Dynamite and open the path toward Blackrock Castle.
  • Blackrock Castle: solve dungeon routing, reach the throne room, fight Cruel King.

Snowy Thicket and Dynamite checks

Snowy Thicket is where many players start spending too many items. Hungry Wolf, Cheeky Eagle, Snory Bear, and the mini-boss pressure are there to test whether the build can survive more than one clean fight.

Dynamite matters because it opens the blocked passage into the castle route. After you have it, use the ski-lift and shortcut logic to avoid repeating unnecessary combat.

  • Carry at least one real healing item before going deep.
  • Use Power Stab only when it changes the turn count.
  • Save enough SP for the castle instead of spending it all in the snow route.

Blackrock Castle checklist

Blackrock Castle uses keys, doors, and tool checks. The prison clue sequence gives the code 2605, and the Blackrock Key opens progress toward the stairs. The diner route has its own key from the forge.

The dungeon also has optional checks such as Hot Seat, the bonus puzzle, BUX, and shop access from Varrick's ice cream cart. Do the cleanup before the throne room if you do not want to return later.

  • Use 2605 for the prison code.
  • Get the Blackrock Key before trying to force the stairs route.
  • Check the forge for the Blackrock Diner Key.
  • Use the healing plate near the throne room before Cruel King.

Cruel King preparation

Cruel King has 30 HP and freezes turns, so the fight rewards a clean SP plan more than raw aggression. Bring a way to damage one target and a way to handle summons.

Power Stab handles the boss when he is alone. Linebounce helps when Call for Help adds Loyal Knight or Crossbow Crony. If your timing is inconsistent, HP+ or extra food is better than pretending every guard will be perfect.

  • Heal and refill before the throne room.
  • Keep SP for planned attacks, not random overkill.
  • Read the Cruel King page before repeated failed attempts.
